Itinerary

Day 1, Madrid airport
On day 1 you arrive in Madrid. We will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your hotel so you can un-pack, rest, relax and aclimatize a bit.

Day 2, Madrid
Today you receive your motorcycle. We'll give you some time to "fiddle" with it to make sure all is to your liking and all your luggage fits in the panniers.
In the afternoon there will be a briefing in which we tell you everything you need to know about the tour, the roads, the customs, etc. We give you the SatNav and show you how to use it.

Day 3, Lleida
298 miles / 480 km (6 hours)
The route starts in Madrid and takes you along the scenic roads, via the cave houses of Civica and the junction of the rio Ebro and the rio Segre to Lleida.

Day 4, Carcassonne
242 miles / 390 km (6 hours)
Following the canyon of the rio Segra the route curls north into Andorra, passing the highest paved road of the Pyrenees and then dipping down to France. Have a quick look at the "pulsating well" of Fontestorbes and then follow the river L'Aude to the castle-city of Carcassonne.

Day 5, Alès
227 miles / 365 km (6½ hours)
Passing beautiful Minerve medieval village, and following the spectacular river La Jonte, the route then enters the famous gorges du Tarn (Tarn canyon) and follows it until Alès.

Day 6, Aix-les-Bains
205 miles / 330 km (6 hours)
Almost immediately the route dives into the gorges du Ardeche, passing that miraculous rock-arc that spans the river before continuing along the windy road along the deep canyon. After this it emerges into the Rhone-valley and quickly disappears again into the gorges de la Bourne.
The route ends for today at the lac du Bourget.

Day 7, Gozano
226 miles / 365 km (6½ hours)
Following the shores of the "lac" the route goes north and passes the Gorges du Fier, where you can take a spectacular walk. It then continues to Anecy and its incredibly spectacular lake with the snowy Alps in the background. Now the route turns east and you get to see the highest mountain in Europe just before you dip into the 7.2 miles (11.6 kilometer) long Mont Blanc tunnel. You will ride straight through the Mont Blanc massive into Italy, where the day will end at lake Orta.

Day 8, Lecco
171 miles / 275 km (5½ hours)
You have now entered the Italian lake district and the roads cling to the side of the rocky shores, passing countless tunnels and just as many vistas. Today you will ride along lago Maggiore, Lago di Lugano and, by many considered the most beautiful lake in the world: Lago Como.

Day 9, Parma
208 miles / 335 km (5½ hours)
Todays route will take you to the Lago Garda and, you might have been looking forward to this for a while now, the “Strada della Forra”, made famous by many movie car chases from James Bond’s Quantum of Solace and, of course, The Italian Job. Due to its breathtaking curves and dramatic views the Strada della Forra is often referred to as “World’s most beautiful road”.
The route continues to follow the entire shore of Lago Garda before ending in Parma.

Day 10, Finale Ligure
174 miles / 280 km (4½ hours)
Just outside of Parma (famous for its cheese by the way) you’ll find the largest bamboo labyrinth in the world, so give that a try. Then cross the mountains and take a hike to a unique ghost town that looks just as it did when it was hastily abandoned many years ago. Following the river Trebbia the route now takes you to the Mediterranean coast, which has a great road that will bring you past beautiful beaches and bays to the destination of today.

Day 11, Castellane
202 miles / 325 km (6½ hours)
Most of the day you will be riding along the beautiful mediterranean coast, swapping beaches for rugged cliffs and visa versa.  Ride along the boulevards of Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes and the spectacular “route de escalles” (literally translated: road the terraces). At San Raphael the route turns inland again to Castellane, the start of the gorges du Verdon.

Day 12, Ganges
224 miles / 360 km (6½ hours)
Todays route starts with the gorges du Verdon, followed by (if you are in the right season) the lavender fields that give the south of France its wonderful smell and color. Next is a stroll along some amazing colored scenery in an old ocher-quarry. A quick stop at the roman aquaduct “pont Julian”, cruising along the city-walls of Avignon and a tour in a traditional winery make this day complete.

Day 13, Roses
199 miles / 320 km (6½ hours)
The route starts to bring you south, but not before passing the cave of Clamouse, which is particularly colorful. It then follows the river L’Hérault until it reaches the Mediterranean coast again, following the shores of the Etang de Bages and the “grand reservoir”. Coastal lakes with their own specific plant and animal life. A visit to Cap de Creus, the most eastern past of Spain, and some picturesque fishing villages top it all off.

Day 14, Ulldemolins
180 miles / 290 km (4½ hours)
Now the route goes inland and passes the magnificent Castelfollit de la roca, a town build on top of a towering cliff. After this it passes the Monteserrat monastery and its amazing boulder-like surroundings and keeps on crossing mountain range after mountain range until it ends in Ulldemolins.

Day 15, Albarracin
211 miles / 340 km (5 hours)
First a ride through a town that is almost molten together with its rocky surroundings. Later today you can take a walk inside a canyon, on wooden walkways that hang of the side of the cliffs. Then, passing lakes and riding curves until you arrive in Albarracin where you'll believe you traveled back into time.

Day 16, Madrid
158 miles / 255 km (4½ hours)
This might be the last day, but definitely not the least. Crossing several canyons and going over several mountain-passes, you will enjoy the curves and views until the last few minutes.
